Update

Let's catch you up on what's going on in North Carolina.

A week ago we celebrated Valentine's Day and Jake's 27th Birthday.  Jake surprised me with heart shaped pancakes that he free handed all by himself :) ...

...and I surprised him with a birthday cake.

This weekend we went to the beach, but first we had to stop by Starbucks.  The lady at the drive through insisted that Zoe have her own cup of whipped cream, an out of the ordinary treat for this pup.

Zoe loved her first trip to the beach.

She tried to pull Jake in, but she wasn't successful.

We walked to my favorite Mexican Restaurant...YUM!

...and yes, sunburns do happen in February.

Thank goodness for warm weather,
Liz

Thirty Six Years

He appreciates a great white shirt.  She adores a great piece of decor.
He loves to joke.  She loves to laugh.
He serves.  She thoroughly enjoys being served ;)
He is a father.  She is a mother.
He protects.  She enforces.
He makes a path.  She lines it with flowers.
He loves the Lord.  She loves the Lord.
He is a husband.  She is a wife.
He and She celebrated 36 years of marriage today.
He and She are my mother and father...
and I couldn't ask for a better example.

Happy Wedding Day Mom and Dad!

Winfield Weekend

I decided to treat myself to a little computer and coffee time at Java Divine this morning, however the latte I'm sipping is not so divine.  It tastes like chicken noodle soup, and I don't have the heart to tell the chica at the front counter.  I shouldn't have a problem since it cost $4.25!!!  When you pay high dollar for a latte it should be pretty darn delicious.  Jake and I are saving every penny for a house, therefore when I splurge on a latte I am highly disappointed when it doesn't excite my taste buds.  On a more positive note, I am thoroughly enjoying my monday off with a little blogging time, and I think I see the sun peeking out of the clouds!  Thank goodness.  I am a girl that needs sunshine in her life.

Our weekend was a whirlwind.  They just go so fast.  Friday night Jake, Christie, Phil and I enjoyed some downtown Raleigh time by having a latte (better than the one I'm drinking now) and hot chocolate at Morning Times Coffee Shop (see pic below) and roaming the shops that were open late for First Friday. We wrapped up the evening with a glass of wine at Busy Bee Cafe.

Saturday Jake and I worked....

Sunday Jake went to a UNC Basketball game with Phil and I explored Fuquay for homes and the Raleigh Flea Market for treasures.  I found these treasures...

House I wish we were purchasing...
Couch I should have purchased...

The stumbled across the next 3 houses that are pretty cute, however I peeked through the windows and they lacked a little character :(  Something to think about though.

Later we were all off to the Hanlon's for a super bowl party!  I didn't care much about the game, but it I did enjoy the food and friends.

Inspired Once Again

I stumbled across this magazine and fell in love with what I found inside.  I am giddy with excitement over these summery rooms.

...and then I did some more blog stalking.  Here are some more pics to add to the "house dreams" folder.

inside my "house dream" file

I should be sleeping right now,  however the coziness of my lush bed always seems to lead to decor digging.  I have a serious obsession, and one glorious find always leads to another.  Here are the finds over the last 30 minutes.  Oh the fun I'll have when I get my hands on a fixer upper!  I'm not joking when I say the thrill of the hunt brings me to giggles.

digging to be continued...

Peds with Ellie and Emily Elizabeth

Jake and I (Emily Elizabeth, as Ellie calls me) babysat last friday night.  We had a fun filled night of baking, barbies, books and pedicures!

Love,
Emily Elizabeth :)
