Let's catch up...

An update in pictures
(at 36 weeks and 6 days)

Kathryn came for a visit first of July.   We had to soak up some rays, half and half tea and oh so yummy Tower 7 Mexican!  We had so much fun!  I wish sister never had to leave.

Later in July my sweet NC friends (and now 1 Floridian Friend) celebrated baby boy by hosting a tea at The Umstead Hotel and Spa.  What a great afternoon with some of my most wonderful friends!

Of course while Laura B. was in town we had to hit up the HUGE consignment sale!  Such a fun morning/afternoon!

Loving my new job :)

Mom and dad came this weekend (week 36)!  They helped us knock out a ton of great house projects.  Paint jobs and final touches on the nursery were at the top of the list!  We are so thankful for them!

Kidney Stones, Watermelon...Oh the Joys of Pregnancy

Holy moly, what a rough end of week 23 and week 24.  I had a wedding Saturday, June 8, but instead of working I ended up in the ER.  It turns out I had a kidney stone.  They kept me overnight and it was about a week long recovery, but I'm feeling much better.  I think the kidney stone was truly a blessing in disguise.  Jake and I got our first overnight visit in the hospital and my first iv out of the way.  Apparently now I'll be able to compare kidney stones and labor pain to see which is worse. They had us in the labor and delivery section, so yes there was a lady screaming bloody murder right next door, but I was kind of jealous because at least she got a baby at the end of her pain.  The good news is our baby boy is perfectly healthy, and apparently kidney stones are pretty common in pregnancy.  Hopefully no more pain like that until baby time.  We are now in week 25, random strangers are starting to notice my growing bump and I can't get enough watermelon.

On other updates, we have officially switched gears on nursery decor.  While the whales from Land of Nod were pretty cute, we've decided it's just not the route we want to take for our little guys first room.  I'll keep you posted on the new look via pictures.  It's too hard to explain any other way, but leather, oak and chevron are all being mixed together.  Sounds bad, but trust me :).

Here are the fabulous pics from our amazing shower!  All photography credit goes to the amazing Jennifer Lee Photographee.  I think legally I am supposed to have watermark pics, but I guess we'll have to live on the edge because she didn't send me any of those.  Thank you again Sarah and Meghan for an amazing shower!

Love,
Elizabeth
